EPPO-NEPPO Workshop on Pest Reporting

EPPO and NEPPO are co-organizing a Workshop on Pest Reporting in November 2026. The Workshop will be held in Hammamet (Tunisia) on 10/12 November 2026. It will start on Tuesday 10th November at 09:00 and will finish on Thursday 12th November at 13:00. The workshop will include a technical visit (half a day).
Objectives of the workshop
The objectives of this Workshop are to improve the understanding of pest reporting obligations including pest status determination, share experience, and discuss pest reporting procedures and tools.
Audience
The main target audience of the Workshop is NPPO staff involved in pest reporting. The number of participants is expected to be about 50 with a good balance of participants from EPPO and NEPPO countries.
The Workshop will be held in English.
Programme
The Workshop will be organized to be interactive: in addition to general sessions with presentations, practical exercises in small groups will be organized. Participants will be encouraged to give short (~15-minutes) oral communications to share their experience in one or more of the following topics:
- Reporting obligations (e.g. Conventions, Regulations, ISPMs)
- Benefits and Challenges of pest reporting
- Determination of Pest Status and new ISPM 8
- How to manage pest reports and pest status over time (e.g. to update or close cases)
- Pest reporting procedures and tools
- How pest reports are used internationally
- How to improve pest reporting
A more detailed programme will be provided in due course and participants will be invited to submit proposals for presentations.

Pre-registration

The deadline for pre-registration is the 15th of June 2026. There is a limited number of places available for this workshop (approximately 50). If there are more registrations than available places, priority may be given to those who registered first.
Registration fee
The registration fee will be approximately 80 EUR and payment will be requested in September 2026 for pre-registered participants. It will include coffee breaks, the technical visit and all other meeting facilities.
Accomodation
Hotel venue: Le Paradis Palace 4*, Hammamet-Tunisia
Rooms will be pre-booked at the workshop venue. When participants complete the full registration they will be provided details on how to confirm the accommodation. Rooms are 277 TND (about 82 EUR) per person, per night for a single room and 192 TND (56 EUR) per person, per night for a double room (including tourist tax). This includes the accommodation and all buffet meals.
