4th Expert Working Group on extrapolation tables for minor uses

The 4th meeting of the Expert Working Group on extrapolation tables for minor uses took place in Paris at the EPPO headquarters on 2016-04-20/22. The experts continued their task of preparation of extrapolation tables to accompany EPPO Standard PP 1/257 Efficacy and crop safety extrapolations for minor uses. During the meeting, the experts finalized the following new extrapolation tables:

 

Fungicides (Effectiveness)
- Diseases on chenopodiaceous vegetables
- Diseases on citrus fruit
- Diseases on miscellaneous fruit (edible peel)
- Diseases on miscellaneous fruit (inedible peel, small)
- Diseases on miscellaneous fruit (inedible peel, large)
- Diseases on tropical roots and tuber vegetables

Insecticides (Effectiveness)
- Pests on rhubarb and asparagus
- Pests on citrus fruit
- Pests on miscellaneous fruit (edible peel)
- Pests on miscellaneous fruit (inedible peel, small)
- Pests on miscellaneous fruit (inedible peel, large)
- Pests on palm trees


The Expert Working Group also discussed tables for generic pests or diseases (i.e. affecting several different crops and crop groups) and agreed on the following generic tables:

 

Fungicides (Effectiveness)
- Damping-off, soil and air borne fungal diseases
- Seed borne diseases

Insecticides (Effectiveness)
- Thrips
- Whiteflies
- Nematodes
- Soil Insects (excluding Diptera flies)
- Spider mites


All new tables agreed by the Expert Working Group will be submitted to the Working Party on Plant Protection Products for approval and will be then published on the EPPO website  . A generic table for Heteroptera suborder has also been discussed and will need to be finalized by the experts.

 

The dates and place for the next meeting will be decided by the Working Party on Plant Protection Products.
